On April 27th Viva revitalized the Miss Point Fortin Borough Beauty Pageant 2012, the star feature of the Point Fortin Borough Day Celebrations. A brand synonymous with good health, fashion and beauty, Viva added just the right amount of sparkle to an already bright and festive occasion.

Fruta Fruit Juices also had an opportunity to promote hit flavours Orange Pineapple and Pomegranate Grapefruit at the SAATHI Dinner and Cultural Evening on April 21st. SAATHI (Serving and Aspiring Towards Helping Individuals), a charitable organization geared towards alleviating poverty and assisting education, food, shelter, medical needs and counseling, hosted their dinner which was themed “Knock out Poverty.” The evening was hosted under the distinguished patronage of Mrs. Gargi Kaul Mishra, wife of the Indian high Comissioner, Mr. Malay Mishra. Fruta Fruit Juices was especially requested for this event for its class, esteemed brand image and desired benefits for healthier living.

Chubby has also been making his rounds! His new inflatable Play Park, an easy hit, has been bouncing from event to event wherever there are children wanting a good time. On April 28th the Just Because Foundation hosted their 5th Annual JBF Kiddi K – Children’s Walk Against Paediatric Cancer at the King George V Park.

Chubby was able to sport his new 25% less sugar look and feel at the “family fun fair and fund-raiser”, themed “Creating Awareness, Promoting wellness”, an event which embraced all things physical and action packed for children. Activities included junior aerobics, gymnastics, karate displays, and musical entertainment. And of course the Chubby Inflatable Park was an exciting and perfect addition to the mix!

That’s not all! Chubby also flexed his new muscles in The Strong Man Competition in Point Forint on May 5th! Again, wherever there are children to be entertained with a good bouncy time, Chubby is happy to attend.

The T&T National Under 11Chamionships, the local percursor to the Regional Championships to be held in Barbados of August this year, took place at the Hasley Crawford Stadium. Sixteen local clubs, from both Trinidad and Tobago, hit the field in March for their chance to represent T&T in the Regional Championships later this year.

Three teams qualified!  Two under 11 teams from Trinidad and one from Tobago will take us to the regional games in August and make our twin island proud. Chubby is excited to see the outcome and sends his best wishes and support to the young boys as they continue striving for excellence. Congratulations and good luck in August! Chubby will be watching every step of the way.

The children were treated with entertainment and an assortment of goodies, all of which they appreciated, complemented by hugs from Chubby himself. Genuinely touched by the bravery and positive aura that emanated from each child and participant in the nearing beauty pageant, Chubby left in high spirits with best wishes for their success.

The Beauty Pageant will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad at 5pm on April 28th. On behalf of Chubby, we wish every single participant courage and good luck. May your true strength and beauty shine forth from within!

Andrew Lewis – our sailing envoy, and Njisane Phillip – our explosive cyclist, have taken the nation’s flag all over the world to date, breaking records and propelling themselves into the spotlight. They will represent Trinidad and Tobago in the upcoming games, carrying Oasis Premium Bottled Water with them every step of the way.

Andrew, a steady and focused 22 year old has been sailing ever since he was 7 years old. He is the current Caribbean Dinghy 2011 Champion and was the first Laser Sailor from T&T to compete in the 2011 Pan American Games. He now travels the world representing T&T in International Regattas and is currently competing in the Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia Regatta, Spain, doing an amazing job at holding T&T on the water.

Njisane, our vibrant cyclist is young and driven at 20 years old. He has been cycling ever since he was 8 years old and has since then managed to secure an impressive line-up of titles. He is the current Pan American Games record holder and gold medalist in the sprint event. Also copped the current fastest man in the Americas, he holds the 2nd fastest time of all time in the region. This comes after his many local successes, a few being his Snatch Race and Match Sprint National Championship titles. Njisane competes this weekend, April 6th to 8th, in the Grand Prix at Skinner Park, San Fernando.

The 8 lucky winners arrived at the party on March 10 with friends and family and had a ball of a day with Chubby himself! The Inflatable Obstacle Course wasn’t the only attraction either. Clowns Tinkles and Sprinkles were there to paint little faces and make balloon animals. When faces weren’t being painted, the kids were happily bouncing about from one activity to the next winning prizes. From the obstacle course race and musical chairs to basketball hoop shooting, “Chubby Says” and the ever popular dancing competition, the children had a ball and won prizes when and wherever there was a prize to be won. 

Chubby himself played “Chubby Says” and danced with the kids to a well entertained and appreciative audience. The greatest reward to him, more so than this party and it being a prize for the children, was being able to see the joy on their faces as they played and enjoyed themselves. He is very pleased at the outcome and congratulates his winners again on their great work and encourages them to continue to CREATE!

Turn after turn, the anticipation grew and the crowd got increasingly restless. Smiles tightened, hearts raced, fingers crossed and gasps were resounding as every player tried their keys and failed. But how did they all get to that point? What led SMJ customers, those who bridge the gap between SMJ and the end consumer, to this draw? The Dream Car Promotion culminated in Trinicity Mall after 6 exciting months from August 2011 to January 2012. 113 of SMJ’s top customers were invited to participate for a chance to win.  Customers were given a specific monthly sales target for specific brands and earned a “key” for every month their target was achieved.

In the end, 62 customers qualified by meeting their targets and earned keys. As the Trinicty Mall Atrium filled with a buzz of contestants, supporters and onlookers, each of the 62 qualifiers randomly drew keys from a bag for every month they qualified during the promotion.  But only one key would open the chest that held the key to the Audi A4 which was safely tucked within velvet lining.

The thrill didn’t end there either. After Chang’s Brothers Liqormart opened the chest with the winning key and won the Audi A4, to an ecstatic uproar from the crowd, other contestants went on to win great consolation prizes. Drawn from a lottery bin that ensconced the other 61 entries, You Wee Supermarket emerged the winner of the 2nd prize; a $25,000 shopping spree at Courts.

Maharaj Budget Price Supermarket, Sangre Grande, walked away with a Plasma Screen HDTV, Anand Low Price Supermarket, Mosquito Creek, won a Barbeque Grill and Persad Food Stores, New Grant, was the lucky winner of a Surround Sound System.

On Carnival Saturday, Chubby and Kool Kidz part sponsored Uncle Bunji’s Children’s Carnival Fantasy at the Arima Velodrome. The only youth oriented event in East Trinidad for the season, Chubby himself was there with his pals, Kool Kidz Mia and Blaze to meet, greet and entertain the kids. Adding to the excitement of Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Magic Shows, and Horse Back Riding alongside a star cast of performers, Chubby and Kool Kidz Mia and Blaze entertained with picture taking and an array of product to sample. Complementing Chubby’s 25% Less Sugar in assorted flavours, Mia and Blaze also distributed Kool Kidz Guava, Pineapple, Strawberry Banana, and Cherry Lemonade.

The day before was just as fun! On Friday February 17, Chubby also contributed to the Chinmaya Vidyalaya Fun and Family Day at the Chinmaya Ashram at Mc Bean, Couva. The Chinmaya Mission, a spiritual organization geared toward making value education and morality an equal part of the secular curriculum, hosted the event which featured sports and gaming activities. The highlight of the day however, alongisde the inflatable Chubby Play Park, was the school’s March Pass which got the students displaying their creative and innovative talents as they depicted various themes, mottos and famous people.  Chubby supported by donating his 25% less sugar product in assorted flavours and his inflatable play park which the children thoroughly enjoyed!

Our first collaboration for the 2k12 season with Hott93 & Fitness Center happened this week, January 31st, at Movie Towne, Invaders’ Bay. As always, the Hott 93 Carnival Burn was electric, energetic and alive with an infectious energy that pushed the crowd on with encouragement.

The Aranguez Savannah was also pumping at 4 o’clock last Wednesday afternoon, when Oasis Cran-Water teamed up with Bermudez for their Carnival burn. Music with aerobics, instructors, Oasis Cran-Water, prizes, people…the WORKS! 

UWI Open Campus (South), in turn, claimed their spot in the work-out drive this year. Oasis Cran-Water jumped on board with their event and was live at the University today (Feb 3rd) at the Southern Regional Sports Arena, Pleasantville. We were there with music, product, giveaways and aerobic instructors.  No matter the age, the healthy and health conscious will always find something inspirational in Oasis Cran-Water. We were also present at UWI’s (St. Augustine Campus) mini orientation week this semester to support their student outreach with samples of the product.
