Dr. Aleem Mohammed - Chairman S.M.Jaleel & Co. Ltd.
Dr. Aleem Mohammed, renowned in the Caribbean as a master entrepreneur and philanthropist, started his career as a medical doctor. In 1980, he changed careers and took the helm of his family’s business, where he led SMJ into being the largest manufacturer and exporter of non-alcoholic drinks in the English-speaking Caribbean region. Under his astute leadership, creativity and innovativeness, SMJ continues on its path of growth and expansion to being a truly global company, opening markets in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Mrs. Anna Mohammed - Vice President Marketing
Mrs. Mohammed joined the Company in 1991 as Marketing and Sales Manager and became the Vice President of Marketing in 1997. She holds a B.A. in Political Economy from the University of Toronto.
Anna's career in Marketing started in Jamaica where she developed export markets for three of Jamaica's largest companies. At S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited she was charged with the overall responsibility for developing the Chubby, Busta and Viva Brands. Anna is a Director of Jamaica Beverages Limited, S.M.J Beverages (Barbados) Inc. and S.M.J (St. Lucia) Beverages Limited.
Dr. Mikaeel Mohammed - Executive Director, Office of the Chairman
Dr. Mikaeel Mohammed belongs to the fourth generation of the Mohammed/Jaleel family within the group. Dr. Mohammed is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with the following credentials M.B., B.Ch, B.A.O., L.R.C.P.I. and L.R.C.S.I. Presently, Dr. Mohammed is continuing his academic studies, pursuing an Heriot- Watt MBA. His main focus at SMJ is to forge, uphold and expand our philosophy of Spirit Centered Leadership and to make SMJ an employer of choice.
Dr. Mohammed is responsible for taking our corporate identity to new levels of effectiveness, through the implementation of change management and corporate communication strategies to ensure the highest levels of service are provided.
J.R "MIKE" HAGAN - Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hagan is an accomplished industry executive with over 25 years of experience leading domestic and international business units ranging in size from $200M to $500M in revenues(USD). Previous to joining the company he was Chief Operating Officer for Shasta Beverages, Inc /National Beverages Corporation 2011-2012.Prior to that he served as President of Pepsi Americas Puerto Rico (2006-2008).Having received numerous industry awards he has spent the majority of his career in Global system stalwarts Coca Cola and PepsiCo and is considered a business development expert who thrives on challenge, turns around underperforming organizations, and delivers substantial bottom line impact. Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that maximize growth, improve shareholder value, and strengthen market presence. Expert in all phases of process improvement, sales and marketing, supply chain management, strategic planning, operations and distribution, budgeting and finance, acquisition due diligence, and P&L performance. A dynamic leader with a consensus management style who fosters a collaborative environment that enables associates to deliver consistent business results. Mr. Hagan has joined the company to lead its day to day operations and fulfill the global expansion vision of our Chairman.
Bill Brophy - Group Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Brophy joined the company in January of 2013 at the position of Group Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing all Finance, Procurement, Information Technology and Customs/Export functions. He brings to SM Jaleel nearly 30 years of experience in the Food and Beverage segment of the Consumer Goods Industry. His most recent of which was the position of CFO at Shasta Beverages. He also spent several years at Tropicana on special projects and Operational Finance. He holds an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, USA.
Paul Shoucair- Vice President of International Sales
Possesses tremendous experience in management with Marketing and Sales being his main focus. He has garnered 25 years of management experience in Jamaica’s business environment, is success oriented, self-motivated, team oriented, has a strong sense of responsibility with excellent communication skills.
A graduate of St Augustine’s College in England and the University of Buckingham in England where he received a Licence in Law, Paul has held critical top managerial positions in noted companies such as Facey Commodity, Wisynco, S.N Shoucair Distributors Limited, Rooms to Go (USA), Jamaica Beverages Limited, Redbull International as Business unit manager for the Eastern Caribbean and currently at SM Jaleel Company Limited where he is the Vice President of International Sales.
Throughout his business career, he has been, on several occasions, the recipient of General Manager and Sales Manager of the Year awards in recognition of his optimal performance and transformational leadership.
Ms. Michelle Grant - Finance & Operations ManagerMichelle Grant joined the company in 2001 as Accountant at SMJ Beverages Barbados. She joined us from Colgate Palmolive where she worked as Brand Accountant, providing sales and financial information on the various brands. In 2005, she was transferred to SMJ Procurement & Marketing Inc. as Finance & Operations Manager, where she works closely with the customers and sales personnel to ensure a premium level of service. Michelle is currently pursuing her ACCA designation as well as an Oxford Brookes degree in Applied Accounting.
Adil Mohammed - Vice President - PurchasingIn April 2012, Mr. Mohammed was appointed the Vice President of Purchasing. In his new role, Mr. Mohammed oversees all aspects of the global supply chain, fulfillment, customer service, and information technology. He assists in the development of world class processes for product launch management, demand planning, logistics, and fulfillment and provides direction and oversight to the team in order to develop and implement risk management strategies using hedging tactics to stabilize future price volatility and margins. Mr. Mohammed first joined SMJ in September 1998, as Systems Administrator and was promoted in December 2001 to the Information Technology Manager. Mr. Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology & Computer Science from the University of West Indies and is a qualified Microsoft Certified Professional with a Diploma in Project Management
Mr. Moreland Mohammed- Vice President Corporate ServicesMoreland Mohammed is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). Moreland gained much of his early experience in the United Kingdom, having worked there for a number of years. Prior to joining S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited in 1992 he was Finance Director/Corporate Secretary of Caribbean Tyre Company Limited (formerly Dunlop).He has brought to S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited, a wealth of experience in the legal, corporate and secretarial field especially in dealing with the Company's International Legal Affairs
Mr. Ernest Williams - Vice President Business Solutions
Ernest Williams joined the Company on July 16th, 2010 and is the Vice President of Business Solutions. Ernest specializes in ICT Leadership and has over 25 years of experience as a Chief Information Officer. He has a track record of leading international ICT Teams in producing award winning, innovative, world class ICT Solutions. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics as well as an MBA, both from the University of the West Indies. "As SM JALEEL realizes its vision of becoming a global company it will continue to be among the Beverage Industry leaders in product and process innovation. One of the key ingredients of maintaining this leadership is the application of information and communications technology (ICT) to its business so as to continually improve performance and productivity. The business solution function is to support the company’s adoption of world-class technologies to sustain world-class results."
William Rajnauth - Vice President, Human Resources Mr. William Rajnauth possesses over 10 years in the Human Resource field with experience in the full range of the HR function in manufacturing and service sectors. Having completed a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in Sociology and Management from UWI St. Augustine, he went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master's in Business Administration from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, UWI. He is responsible for the Human Resources function for SMJ with specific focus on human resource development, organizational development and performance management.
Rayard Singh - Group Technical Services Manager Mr. Rayard Singh is an experienced professional with over nineteen years in the beverage industry. Having held leadership roles in both production operations and quality departments, he has worked with several of the foremost local, regional and international companies/brands. Having completed several quality designations including Quality Leadership, Lead Auditor ISO 9000:2000 and Aseptic and Thermal Processing, he also possesses a M.Sc. in Tropical Commodity Utilization from the University of the West Indies. As Group Technical Service Manager in SM Jaleel, he has responsibility for standardization of the quality and operating systems throughout the group and to build quality into every single bottle/pack of product that the company sells. In support of this robust system, he will focus on maintaining existing certification and implementing new certification in keeping with international quality systems.
Mr. Rajesh Rajkumarsingh - Vice President Finance and Subsidiaries
Rajesh Rajkumarsingh joined the company on March 1st 2008 in the capacity of Financial Controller and was promoted to Vice President Finance and Subsidiaries on July 1st 2008. Mr. Rajkumarsingh has over sixteen years experience in the accounting and auditing field and has previously held positions of Finance Director, Finance Manager and Audit Manager at other firms. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), and has a Masters in Business Administration from the Heriot Watt University. Mr. Rajkumarsingh is responsible for leading the Head Office Finance Division and overseeing financial performance of the SMJ Subsidiaries in Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Guyana, and Suriname
Mr. Neil Ramjattan - Financial ControllerIn April 2012 Neil Ramjattan was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Ramjattan joined SMJ in August 1993 as Payroll Clerk. Over his 19 years at SMJ, he showed significant growth and development and held the positions of Payroll Supervisor, Accounts Payable Clerk, Costing Clerk, Cost Accountant, Project Accountant, Management Accountant, Chief Accountant and in March 2009, he became the Financial Controller. He is a member of ACCA and is currently pursuing the Heriot-Watt MBA.

Mr. McArthur Barrow - General Manager BarbadosMcArthur Barrow joined the Company in 2004 as General Manager SMJ Beverages Barbados, and brings over 25 years of valuable experience in the areas of Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Information Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a Masters Degree in Computer Technology. McArthur is leveraging his skills and experience to make SMJ Beverages Barbados the leading force in the carbonated soft drink; juice, water and energy drink categories.
Mr. Robert Selman – General Manager GuyanaRobert Selman was initially employed at S.M. Jaleel & Co. Ltd, Trinidad, where he led the Sales Team for many years. He then re-located to Guyana where held the position as Sales Manager. In 2002, Mr. Selman was promoted to the position of General Manager of Guyana Beverages, where he successfully manages the sales and distribution of SMJ's brands in Guyana, and leads a staff of 80 employees. Vice President of Sales and Marketing USA
Kevin Cox’s responsibilities currently include all sales and marketing for the USA, managing large grocery retailers, and distributor & broker networks for carbonated soft drinks by capitalizing on his 35 years of long term customer relationships nationally.
Mr. Cox lends to SMJ a wealth of experience in Sales as he has covered international brands like 7-UP and Pepsi. He has also held leading positions at COTT Beverages USA as well as National Beverages Corp/Shasta West. His aim is to continue attaining new distribution in some of the largest retailers in the USA and to help make SMJ brands more visible on an international scale.
Roger Bell - General Manager/Head of Sales and Distribution Trinidad & Tobago
On September 1st 2012 SMJ has added to its executive team Mr. Roger Bell; General Manager/ Head of Sales and Distribution for Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Bell has increased the knowledge pool at SMJ with his 2 decades of experience as an executive for North American and Regional companies such as Publix Supermarkets, Vemco and Associated Brands (Jamaica). Albeit an engineer by degree, he has implemented business strategies that optimize performance within a variety of business structures, from start-up to turnaround. Mr. Bell practices a hands-on strategy coupled with an open door policy that are his core success factors in attaining market penetration and sustained market and sales growth. He is a grounded individual who strives to achieve any goals set forth to him.
Mark Cozier - General Manager, SMJ (St. Lucia) Ltd.
SMJ (St. Lucia) Ltd. welcomed Mr. Mark Cozier to the team as General Manager on June 25, 2012.
Mark is a Grenadian born, St. Lucian national who grew up in Uganda and Kenya, East Africa, before returning to the Caribbean in 1976. After completing secondary schooling at Harrison College in Barbados he attained a BSc Mechanical Engineering from UWI, St. Augustine Trinidad.
His career started in the petroleum industry with Esso Standard Oil S.A. Ltd where he was Operations Manager for the bulk terminal operations and distribution for the Southern Caribbean.
In 1994 a change in career path to that of food and beverage industry positioned him as General Manager for the Goddard Catering Group St. Lucia Ltd, with overall responsibility for the inflight and purified water manufacturing divisions.
Mark joins SMJ with a wealth of experience in quality assurance, operational and general management. As an individual who is a results oriented and committed team player he is looking forward to working with the SMJ family in meeting our goal of being the leading non alcoholic CSD manufacturer in St. Lucia, and by extension, the Eastern Caribbean and the world.
