Dr. Aleem Mohammed - Chairman S.M.Jaleel & Co. Ltd.
Dr. Aleem Mohammed, renowned in the Caribbean as a master entrepreneur and philanthropist, started his career as a medical doctor. In 1980, he changed careers and took the helm of his family’s business, where he led SMJ into being the largest manufacturer and exporter of non-alcoholic drinks in the English-speaking Caribbean region. Under his astute leadership, creativity and innovativeness, SMJ continues on its path of growth and expansion to being a truly global company, opening markets in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia.

Mrs. Anna Mohammed - Vice President Marketing
Mrs. Mohammed joined the Company in 1991 as Marketing and Sales Manager and became the Vice President of Marketing in 1997. She holds a B.A. in Political Economy from the University of Toronto.
Anna's career in Marketing started in Jamaica where she developed export markets for three of Jamaica's largest companies. At S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited she was charged with the overall responsibility for developing the Chubby, Busta and Viva Brands. Anna is a Director of Jamaica Beverages Limited, S.M.J Beverages (Barbados) Inc. and S.M.J (St. Lucia) Beverages Limited.
Dr. Mikaeel Mohammed - Director
Dr. Mikaeel Mohammed belongs to the fourth generation of the Mohammed/Jaleel family within the group. He brings a natural leadership background to the company fostered primarily in academia and sport . Academically, Dr. Mohammed is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with the following credentials M.B., B.Ch, B.A.O., L.R.C.P.I. and L.R.C.S.I. Also, Dr. Mohammed is continuing his academic studies, while at SMJ, pursuing an MBA at Heriot- Watt.
At Present, Dr. Mohammed oversees several departments, with a particular focus on Maintenance, Properties, Sanitation, HR, HSE and Security.
Mr. Tony Ali - General Manager- S.M. Jaleel Distributors Limited Trinidad
Tony Ali Joined the Company on March 29th 2010 as General Manager for the Trinidad operations. Mr Ali brings to SMJ over 15 years of global experience in the areas of Executive Management, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain Logistics and Customer Service for a number of large fortune 500 organizations. He hold a BSc., Marketing degree and successfully completed a McKinsey Fellowship. Tony is leveraging his operational and sales expertise as well as his international experience to help establish the Trinidad division as the nucleus of the SMJ family and to help the company realize its goal of becoming a global company.
Mr. Geoffrey Estacio
Geoffrey Lou Estacio joined SMJ on October 2006 as PET plant engineer. He was promoted to Operations Manager and is now currently the PET Plant Manager. Geoffrey is highly experienced in Plant and Maintenance Engineering, with over 20 years of experience in different manufacturing plants, of which 15 years was spent in the PET industry.
Relying on God given knowledge and experience, he is leading the PET Team to achieve its goals through the integrated support of the entire PET team. He embraces the power of unity, team spirit and believes in developing and unleashing human potential to sustain the demand of tomorrow's challenges.
Ms. Michelle Grant - Finance & Operations Manager
Michelle Grant joined the company in 2001 as Accountant at SMJ Beverages Barbados. She joined us from Colgate Palmolive where she worked as Brand Accountant, providing sales and financial information on the various brands. In 2005, she was transferred to SMJ Procurement & Marketing Inc. as Finance & Operations Manager, where she works closely with the customers and sales personnel to ensure a premium level of service. Michelle is currently pursuing her ACCA designation as well as an Oxford Brookes degree in Applied Accounting.
Kevin Jagessar - Tetra Plant Manager
Kevin Jagessar joined the SMJ team in Aug 1997. Kevin has acquired qualifications in ISO 9001:2000 as Lead Auditor in Management Systems, Operations Management from The University of the West Indies Trinidad, and HACCP from the Royal Institute of Public Health. Kevin started his career at SMJ in the Quality Assurance Department as a Q.A. Supervisor, and was subsequently promoted to Tetra Plant Operation Manager. His responsibility is now mainly focused on the Tetra Pak Operations department. His wealth of over 13 years of experience in both Quality and Manufacturing makes him a valuable member of the management team.
Mr. Farouk Karim - Manager of Projects
Farouk Karim joined S.M. Jaleel on May 15th 1995 as Maintenance Manager. Over the last 15 years he has led the projects and PET Departments at various times, as well as participated as a key member of the International Project Team.
Adil Mohammed - Information Technology Manager
Adil Mohammed joined the company in September 1998, as Systems Administrator. In December 2001 he was promoted to Information Technology Manager. Mr. Mohammed has over 12 years of experience in his field. He manages the IT Dept in Trinidad & throughout the Caribbean to support SMJ’s mission by implementing carefully selected IT Infrastructure initiatives, aligned to effectively support key business and policy priorities, and to efficiently manage core business processes to the entire group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology & Computer Science from the University of West Indies. Additionally he is a qualified Microsoft Certified Professional & has a diploma in Project Management from PMI.
Mr. Moreland Mohammed- Vice President Corporate Services
Moreland Mohammed is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK). Moreland gained much of his early experience in the United Kingdom, having worked there for a number of years. Prior to joining S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited in 1992 he was Finance Director/Corporate Secretary of Caribbean Tyre Company Limited (formerly Dunlop).He has brought to S.M. Jaleel & Company Limited, a wealth of experience in the legal, corporate and secretarial field especially in dealing with the Company's International Legal Affairs
Ms. Shelly-Ann Mohammed - Vice President Legal Affairs
Ms. Mohammed has built her practice upon a diverse international and business background. Ms. Mohammed is admitted to the bar in the United States and Trinidad & Tobago.
Ms. Mohammed previously worked for major law firms in New York prior to returning home to Trinidad, to take up the post as the Group Chief Legal Officer of CL Financial Limited.
Ms. Mohammed graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Laws with Honors from the University of Exeter, was a Dean's Scholar at the University of Connecticut, School of Law and was awarded one of three, nationwide scholarships to study European Comparative Law in Strasburg, France.
Ms. Mohammed is the President and Chairman of the Board for the Caribbean Investor Network, a socialforum to bring together key stakeholders, to encourage regional collaboration and integration and foster the economic development and growth of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) island nations.
Mr. Glen F. Rajack- Corporate Services
Glen Rajack joined the company on February 1, 2007 with over 25 years of experience in Administration and Finance. He has held a variety of executive level positions both in Trinidad and Canada. He is a Certified General Accountant of Canada, Chartered Accountant of Trinidad and Tobago and Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager.
Mr. Rajack has received the highest award from the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, the Fellow designation, and is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General of Canada. Mr. Rajack is responsible for the group's Corporate Services portfolio.
Mr. Rajesh Rajkumarsingh - Vice President Finance and Subsidiaries
Rajesh Rajkumarsingh joined the company on March 1st 2008 in the capacity of Financial Controller and was promoted to Vice President Finance and Subsidiaries on July 1st 2008. Mr. Rajkumarsingh has over sixteen years experience in the accounting and auditing field and has previously held positions of Finance Director, Finance Manager and Audit Manager at other firms. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), and has a Masters in Business Administration from the Heriot Watt University. Mr. Rajkumarsingh is responsible for leading the Head Office Finance Division and overseeing financial performance of the SMJ Subsidiaries in Jamaica, Barbados, St. Lucia, Guyana, and Suriname
Mr. Neil Ramjattan - Financial Controller
Neil Ramjattan joined S.M.Jaleel on 31st August 1993 as Payroll Clerk. Over his 17 years at SMJ, he held the positions of Payroll Supervisor, Accounts Payable Clerk, Costing Clerk, Cost Accountant, Project Accountant, Management Accountant and Chief Accountant. In March 2009 Neil was promoted to Financial Controller. Neil is a member of ACCA and is currently pursuing the Heriot-Watt MBA.
Inshan Rasool - Plant Manager
Inshan Rasool rejoined the Company on March 17th 2010 as Plant Manager. In 1994, he originally joined the Company as a trainee Engineer and moved his way up to V.P. of Manufacturing in 2004. in 2006, he left the organization to lecture at a local University. He currently holds a Masters of Science degree in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He brings with him 12 years of manufacturing experience to help take the company global.
Abdul Salam Shaik
Mr.Abdul Salam Shaik re-joined SM Jaleel group in August 2009 as “Technical Manager” for Trinidad Juice company limited . He holds B.Sc., degree in Chemistry and is a Fellow member of the ‘Institute of food science & Technology ( UK ). He has specialized in Manufacture & Quality assurance in soft drink bottling, Aseptic packaging, Bottled water, and dairy processing. Prior to joining SM Jaleel, he worked in Jamaica , Suriname , Dubai , Tanzania and Kenya for multinational companies such as Coca Cola and Rc Cola in senior Technical and General Management positions.
Mr. Peter Traboulay -Vice President Technical Services
Peter Traboulay joined the company on August 17th 2009. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Pure & Analytical Chemistry from the University of the West Indies. He has extensive training and experience in the areas of product development, flavour development & applications, quality assurance, quality systems, analytical instrumentation techniques, project management, international plant certification and other related technical fields in the food and beverage industry. Mr. Traboulay is presently responsible for Product Development, Quality Assurance, Technical Support Services, Plant Audits and Environmental issues.
Mr. Ernest Williams - Vice President Business Solutions
Ernest Williams joined the Company on July 16th, 2010 and is the Vice President of Business Solutions. Ernest specializes in ICT Leadership and has over 25 years of experience as a Chief Information Officer. He has a track record of leading international ICT Teams in producing award winning, innovative, world class ICT Solutions. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics as well as an MBA, both from the University of the West Indies. "As SM JALEEL realizes its vision of becoming a global company it will continue to be among the Beverage Industry leaders in product and process innovation. One of the key ingredients of maintaining this leadership is the application of information and communications technology (ICT) to its business so as to continually improve performance and productivity. The business solution function is to support the company’s adoption of world-class technologies to sustain world-class results."
Mr. Ernest Augier – General Manager St. Lucia
Ernest Augier joined the company in June 1997, having started with the distribution of Chubby on the St .Lucian market. In December 1998, SMJ established a manufacturing plant in St. Lucia, and Mr. Augier was promoted to the position of General Manager.
Mr. McArthur Barrow - General Manager Barbados
McArthur Barrow joined the Company in 2004 as General Manager SMJ Beverages Barbados, and brings over 25 years of valuable experience in the areas of Customer Service, Sales, Marketing and Information Management. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a Masters Degree in Computer Technology. McArthur is leveraging his skills and experience to make SMJ Beverages Barbados the leading force in the carbonated soft drink; juice, water and energy drink categories.
Mrs. Nuria Pasaribu-Phang - General Manager Suriname
Mrs. Nuria Pasaribu-Phang joined the Company from September 2010 as the General Manager SMJ Beverages Suriname, coming from a European-based Marketing & Sales background and another 4 years of local experience. Nuria is a strong performance-focused leader, holding a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and an Executive Masters in Marketing Communications from the Dutch University of Nijenrode. Bringing 10 years of European Trade and Channel Marketing, she is aiming to pick-up and grow the pace in the Suriname market through branding and strong distribution. Following the mission of the company through great brands and placing them in the home, hearts and minds of the Surinamese.
Mr. Robert Selman – General Manager Guyana
Robert Selman was initially employed at S.M. Jaleel & Co. Ltd, Trinidad, where he led the Sales Team for many years. He then re-located to Guyana where held the position as Sales Manager. In 2002, Mr. Selman was promoted to the position of General Manager of Guyana Beverages, where he successfully manages the sales and distribution of SMJ's brands in Guyana, and leads a staff of 80 employees. Mr. Doug Prostko - Director of Sales & Marketing USA
Doug Prostko joined S.M. Jaleel in January of 2009 as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the US market. In addition to his education at West Virginia University, Doug brings over 20 years of experience in the beverage industry. Key highlights in Doug's career are: the bottle and can business with Pepsi-Cola, which followed into the management of Pepsi's franchise with Seven-Up USA, then to the grocery private label soft drink ventures with Cott Beverages. Doug also led a relaunch of Chubby into the USA for Cott Canada in 2002, which built sustained brand awareness outside of the New York City market. His primary objectives with SMJ are to continue developing a strong nationwide network of distributors in the USA, while creating new sales opportunities with large national chains.
Ms. Gillian Parkinson joined the SMJ Family on Nov. 8, 2010 and is based in Trinidad. Gillian possesses 12 years’ experience working in Latin America and has acquired a wealth of knowledge in these markets having worked as Marketing Coordinator for 6 years in PepsiCo International, Restaurant division, with the South American group. She later went on to become the Marketing Manager of 4 years at Liqui Moly GmbH, Chile, in charge of the Chilean Market in which she developed and managed the LM Latin American Group. She is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
