As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of SM Jaleel, we reflect on our century-long promise to community development. This milestone is not just a testament to our longevity but also a reminder of our enduring responsibility to the environment and future generations.

Last week, in alignment with our centennial celebrations, our company, through the HSE Department, joined forces with the Forestry Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries to commemorate World Environment Day on a national level. On this day, we were reminded that our commitment to the environment must be an everyday endeavour. Our actions should always reflect our dedication to preserving our planet. This year’s theme, “Our Land, Our Future,” aligned perfectly with our shared vision. We are #GenerationRestoration.

With our support, the Forestry Division embarked on a mission to plant over 12,000 trees across conservancies throughout the country. This initiative not only emphasizes our dedication to environmental stewardship but also symbolizes our legacy and forward-looking vision as we celebrate 100 years.

Here are some pictures from the formal launch at the St Michael’s Forest Station. Notable guests included the Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture, the Honourable Avinash Singh, Permanent Secretary Mr. Farook Hosein, Chief Technical Officer in the Ministry, Mr. Denny Dipchandsingh, and Conservator of Forests Mr. Ameer Roopnarinesingh.

As we look back on a century of excellence, we also look forward to the future, committed to making meaningful contributions to our community and the environment. Here’s to another 100 years of sustainability and success!
